11/3/2020 Video: Jill Biden campaigns for husband in Savannah, Encourages Georgians to voteRead NowDr. Jill Biden held a drive-in rally Monday night at Savannah State University campaigning for her husband Joe Biden. She’s urging Georgians to get out and vote early.
Biden visited both Macon and Savannah Monday. Her first stop was in Macon, where she attended a Georgia Women for Biden Early Vote Event. Late Monday afternoon, Biden stopped in Savannah for an Early Vote Drive-In Rally. Biden spoke to a socially distant crowd. “I know just eight days from now we are going to win!” Biden said. The Biden campaign is still taking this pandemic seriously only allowing people to attend the drive-in rally in their cars to social distance. Everyone was asked to wear a mask and have their temperatures checked. Biden supporters took note of this as they see Joe Biden as someone who can lead the country through the coronavirus pandemic if elected. “We’re going through a global pandemic right now and leaders should act like we’re going through something,” Biden supporter, Glenada Davis said. “We really need leaders who will unite our country, who will have real plans to address the coronavirus pandemic,” Savannah Mayor Van Johnson said. The main message was urging Georgians to pack the polls before early voting ends on Friday. “There are no do-overs. We can’t sit back and watch what happens, we have to decide what happens,” Biden said. Biden gave an upbeat message for the country to reunite again. “We aren’t divided. We’re just trying to survive the chaos of Donald Trump’s America,” Biden said. Georgia is considered a battleground state with this presidential race neck and neck. Biden said every single vote counts. Some Biden supporters News 3 spoke with say they can make this choice without any hesitation. “Bottomline is that I believe that they’re good people and they seem to have a lot of care and compassion for all Americans,” Biden supporters, Molly Lieberman said. Early Voting in Georgia continues through Friday. Election Day is November 3. |
