Feed the Hungry invites you to and your family to celebrate Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King's birthday with an MLK weekend of events:
January 15th 3 pm in the Savannah Civic Center Ballroom its a free banquet in honor Dr. Naomi King (sister-in Law of Dr. King) and a special showing of "Rev. A.D. King Brother to the Dreamer". This is a powerful documentary about the brother of Rev. Dr Martin Luther King Jr who was found dead a year later in a swimming pool. It's a powerful narrative that focuses on his death believed not to be an accident. There will be a special showing Dr. Naomi King will be in attendance and a delicious meal will be served this is that is free but they must RSVP or go to the website to reserve @ www.savannahfeedthehungry.net January 16th: The Inaugural showing of Representative Carl W. Gilliard's new documentary 'The Power of the Pen". This is a documentary to focus on how Georgia citizens arrest law repeal how different than legislators from both parties were involved as well as how the work was spotlighted at the Geneva Convention and stimulated legislation in New York and South Carolina. It's a powerful documentary that links to the recent Ahmad Aubrey murder. 3 pm at the Jepson Museum 207 W. York Street, Savannah, Ga. (Free and open to the public but they must reserve on the website) January 17th: The 13th Annual MLK Community Dinner (Immediately following the MLK Parade) at the Frank Callens Boys and Girls Club on 510 East Charlton Street, Savannah, Ga. This Annual meal will feature a delicious hot meal live entertainment and speakers. January 17th: "The Last Days of King" A radio documentary narrated by Representative Carl Gilliard This is a powerful documentary that has interviews from several of Dr. King's family members as well as staff. The show documents the last days of his death and how the man and the movement made such a tremendous difference in the lives of our nation.
